WHAT TO BRING

THE INDIVIDUAL:

  • A positive can-do attitude

  • Respect for others

  • Good sense of humour

  • A willingness to learn

  • The ability to follow instructions, whilst thinking for yourself

ON YOUR PERSON:

  • Arrive wearing a plain RED T-Shirt

  • Shorts for running in

  • Running/training shoes  

  • Waterproof watch

  • Cap or sun hat

  • *MOBILE PHONE in a waterproof bag/cover

EQUIPMENT IN YOUR BACK PACK:

  • 1 x Large back pack - packed with the below items

  • 1 x Waterproof pack liner - OR - 3 x Large rubbish bags

  • 6 Litres of water minimum* (bottles and/or camel backs are allowed)

  • 2 x Lightweight long sleeve tops

  • 2 x Lightweight long trousers/pants

  • 3 x Pairs of socks minimum*

  • 1 x Waterproof jacket

  • 1 x Pair of comfortable hiking boots

  • 1 x Spare pair of cross-trainers

  • 1 x Set of cold weather gear / thermals 

  • 1 x Spare pair of shorts

  • 1 x Spare plain RED T-Shirt

  • Spare underwear

  • 1 x Head Lamp (with spare batteries)

  • 20m of string, coiled up

  • 1 x small note book and pen

  • ENSURE - You pack enough food to last you 24hrs in case of emergency, packed in a clear plastic bag

PERSONAL FIRST AID KIT:

  • Small bag or zip-lock bag to hold personal first aid kit items

  • Qty of Band-aides / plasters

  • Betadine / Iodine / Alcohol swabs 

  • Vaseline or petroleum jelly

  • Sunblock

  • Personal medication

BASE CAMP BAG:

  • Toiletries

  • Towel

  • Comfortable footwear / jandals

  • Warm comfortable clothing top and bottoms
